About Me

I work as a Machine Learning Research Scientist for the Health Information Systems (HIS) division at 3M. They are well known for simplifying health information with solutions in 25 countries and 10,000 hospitals worldwide. My job is, in particular, developing new methodologies for annotating and classifying clinical notes. I also understand the healthcare ecosystem, including but not limited to CDA documents with PHI, Reimbursement Processes, and Coding Systems.

I received my doctoral degree from Rutgers University under the supervision of Professor Gerard de Melo. My research broadly includes Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning. During my Ph.D., I proposed and developed various computational methods to understand the association between emojis and human emotions such as anger, fear, joy, sadness, etc.

I have also been involved in various entrepreneurial efforts. Besides spending time with my lovely family members, I help people to commercialize their ideas with technical and financial support.

Before coming to Rutgers, I earned M.Sc. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and B.Sc. Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). I was born in the village of Sunamganj and grew up in Sylhet, a beautiful city in eastern Bangladesh on the Surma River.
